What is CPSIA?
CPSIA (US children’s products)
CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) is a US law setting safety limits for children’s products — including lead and phthalate limits and third-party testing for items intended for children 12 and under. It applies to all children’s footwear sold in the USA.
CPSIA caps total lead content, restricts certain phthalates, and requires accredited third-party testing plus a Children’s Product Certificate for covered products.
For footwear it applies to children’s shoes, with testing focused on the materials a child contacts.
DOING manufactures children’s footwear to CPSIA (and EN 71-3 for the EU) where the destination market requires it, with third-party lab reports.
